1698-03-18[Selectmen's Meeting March 18, 1698] At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 18th day of March, 1697/8, agreed with Simon Lovett that for the time that he shall ring the bell, and do the office of Sexton as in the year past, he shall be paid after the rate of five pounds a year for the time he shall so do, for which he do the promise shall be till the first of May next, if nothing do prevent that he doth not now foresee, and if he shall decline said work, then to give the Selectmen timely notice.
