At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 17th day of January 1697 [sic], Constable William Cleaves brought
the following receipts, viz.:
Boston July 27, 1697.
Received of Mr. William Cleaves, Constable of Beverly, twenty nine pounds, nine shillings & eight
pence, in full of a warrant for sixty one pounds, ten shillings, received for Mr. James Taylor, Treasurer.
