1697-05-17[Selectmen's Meeting May 17, 1697] At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 17th day of May, 1697, then reckoned with John Trask who was Constable for the year 1696, with respect to several lists of the country assessments, committed to him the said John Trask, and it doth appear by receipt from the country treasurer, that the said John Trask hath fully paid and discharged all country assessments, committed to him to collect and pay for the said year. At a meeting of the Selectmen on 17th May, 1697, then reckoned with Nathaniel Rayment for the keeping of John Knights, one of the poor of our town, for one year, and he the said Nathaniel Rayment and his father John Rayment senr., being paid fifteen shillings and eleven pence, the town remains indebted to the said John Rayment senr., the sum of four pounds, four shillings & one penny in the account above said, the year above said beginning 20 of May, 1696.
