1697-02-26[Selectmen's Meeting, February 26, 1697]
At a meeting of the Selectmen February the 26th, 1696/7, it was delivered unto Capt. William Dodge
town treasurer, the sum of eighteen shillings in money, for to provide flints for the town stock, the which
money was lent to the town by the several persons under named, viz.: by Capt. John Dodge three
shillings, by Deacon John Hill three shillings, by Mr. Thomas West three shillings, by Mr. Robert
Bradford three shillings, by Mr. Isaac Woodbury three shillings, & by Samuel Balch three shillings, for
the which money the town now remains indebted to said Capt. John Dodge, Deacon John Hill, Mr.
Thomas West, Mr. Robert Bradford, Mr. Isaac Woodbury & Samuel Balch to each of them three shillings
apiece, at the same time the said Capt. William Dodge did also loan to the town, three shillings in money
on the account above said, on which account the town now remains indebted to the said Capt. William
Dodge, the said sum of three shillings, the which three shillings being added to the eighteen shillings
above named, makes the whole sum £01:01:00.
