MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, MAY 13, 2013
LOCATION. Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road,
Beverly, MA, 01915
PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dawe, Dettorre, Faulstich, Forgione, Mahoney, Skerry,
and Vitale
ABSENT: Commissioners DiPaolo, Nelson, and White
PUBLIC: Craig Schuster, Dave Graham, Richard Chase, Charlene Chase, Tony Bettencourt,
Bill Kossowan, Wes Rosen, and Tom Lyons
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for April 2013 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading of
the minutes from the April meeting. Commissioner Forgione made a motion to
accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion passed
unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report for April 2013 — No Report
4. Presentation(s) —
• Jacob's Engineering — Dave Graham and Craig Schuster discussed the status of
the East Ramp Reconstruction Project and the West Ramp Reconstruction
Project.
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale discussed:
• The drainage at Hangar #3
• That there will be no increase in rent for the Barracks Building sub - tenants
when the BAC takes control of it in July 2013. An increase in Linda
McCarthy's rent will be subject to further talks.
• The Wings & Wheels event at BVY, which will be up and running again this
September

• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney talked about
the status of the New England Academy.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee —No noise complaints to date for FYI 3.
• Facility Maintenance — Commissioner Faulstich reported that Coastal Pool had
a boat, five vehicles, and pool chemicals in the back of the Barracks Building.
• Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner Forgione reminded the
commission of Wi -Fi capability at the Admin/Maint building and that the
airport website had 1,114 hits for the month of April.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — No Report
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — Commissioner Barnico updated the commission on the proposed
watershed ordinance.
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — Now that the tower closing issue is
over until September 30, 2013, Commissioner Skerry suggested waiting until
June to do a disaster exercise.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collection, contract tower closing status, sequestration effect on CIP
projects, Mass State Aviation Tax Exemption, State House "Aviation on the Hill
Day ", East Ramp Reconstruction Project status, FEMA Disaster Assistance for the
Blizzard of February 8 -9, 2013, and a proposed airport visit by Senator Lovely, State
Transportation Secretary Davey, and Chris Willenborg of MassDOT /Aeronautics.
D. NEW BUSINESS None
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
Ace Chase reported placing two more airport signs on Route 62 and that the annual
airport summer cookout at Hangar #4 will be Sunday, July 14 beginning around
12:30PM or 1:00PM.
• Bill Kossowan gave an AOPA update.
Tom Lyons reported the BVY C.A.P. squadron has 47 members and that C.A.P. is
holding an "Airport Day" as part of this year's Beverly Homecoming on Saturday,

8/3/13. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to approve the C.A.P.'s "Airport
Day" event, seconded by Commissioner Faulstich. Motion passed unanimously.

Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Forgione, seconded by Commissioner Faulstich.
