1696-05-15[Town Meeting May 15th 1696] At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Beverly on the 15th of May, 1696, Capt. John Dodge was chosen representative for said town, to attend his Majesty's service in a Great & General Court or assembly, to be convened, held and kept for his Majesty's service, at the town house in Boston on the 27th May instant. At the same town meeting Samuel Corning was chosen to serve on the grand jury & Joseph Dodge senr., Freeborn Balch & Joseph Herrick to serve on jury of trials at the next Superior Court of Judicature, general goal delivery, court of assize, to be held for this County at Ipswich, on the 19th day of this instant month of May.
