At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 1st day of June, 1695, was a rate made for Mr. Hale's maintenance,
Constable John Trask his part being £36:01:06, Constable Jacob Griggs his part £37:13:06; £32 whereof
each is to pay into Mr. Hale in money at or before the 1st day of March next ensuing, and the overplus of
John Trask's list being £4:01:03, he is to pay to the Selectmen or their order for the use of the town and
the overplus of Jacob Griggs lists being £05:13:06, he is likewise to pay into the Selectmen or their order
for the use of the town, said rate to be paid in money, Mr. Hale's part to be paid quarterly, that is to say
08:00:00 per quarter.
