1695-03-08[Selectmen's Meeting March 8, 1695] At a meeting of the Selectmen March 8, 1694/5, William Bath received an order of 13 pounds in pay, directed to Constable Samuel Stone. At the same meeting of the Selectmen the 8 th of March, 1694/5, received of John Conant who was Constable for the year 1692, the sum of one pound & eighteen shillings that is to say one [illegible] at £01:00:00 & £00:18:00 in money, & six shillings and eight pence by discount of the Nathaniel Carroll's & Thomas Raymond's rates viz.: £00:04:00 Nathaniel Carroll's rate, and £00:02:08 out of Thomas Raymond his rate for said year, and also one pound paid to Samuel Balch to the said Balch his acceptance, which is in full satisfaction on account of all rates committed to him the said John Conant, during the time of his Constableship. At a meeting of the Selectmen on the 8th day of March, 1694/5. John Conant who was Constable for the year 1692 brought the following receipts. Charlestown the 27 of January 1692. Then received of Mr. John Conant, Constable of Beverly the sum of fifteen pounds, seven shillings and one pence in bills of credit, in part of said town's last assessment. I say received John Phillips, Treasurer Charlestown the 18th May, 1693. Then received of Mr. John Conant, Constable of Beverly, the sum of fifty seven pounds, two shillings & six pence, in part of said town's last assessment. I say received. John Phillips, Treasurer Charlestown the 18th June, 1693. Then received of Mr. John Conant, Constable of Beverly the sum of sixteen pounds, fifteen shillings & eleven pence, as part of said town's last assessment. I say received. John Phillips, Treasurer I have received by several for my pains for the year begun 1st November, 1692, out of the ward John Conant was collector, for the sum of thirty one pounds, this 8th March, 1694/5.
