1695-02-23[Selectmen's Meeting February 23, 1695] At a meeting of the Selectmen February 23, 1694/5, Samuel Stone, Constable brought the receipt following viz.: Boston, November 5, 1694. Received of Mr. Samuel Stone, Constable of Beverly, twenty two pounds, ten shillings, the full of a warrant for twenty two pounds, ten shillings. I say received for Mr. James Taylor, Treasurer. Jer. Allen Boston, February 13, 1694. Received of Mr. Samuel Stone, Constable of Beverly, thirty six pounds, seventeen shillings, in full of a warrant for forty five pounds, nineteen shillings and ten pence. I say received for Mr. James Taylor, Treasurer. Jer. Allen At a meeting of the Selectman February the 23rd, 1694/5, then reckoned with Constable Samuel Stone with respect to a country rate committed to him, dated the 12 I of April 1694, and also for two country lists which he hath paid, as appears by receipt from the treasurer and also for a town rate dated August the 24th, 1694 and said Stone remains in the town's debt on the account of the rates above said, the sum of three pounds and ten shillings and no more.
