1695-12-20[Town Meeting December 20, 1695] December 20, 1695. At a legal town meeting of the inhabitants of Beverly, Capt. William Raymond, Capt. John Dodge & Mr. Thomas West, which chosen a committee to treat with Wenham, about rectifying of the line between their town and ours, and if Wenham shall agree, thereto, then to procure an article from the perfecting of said line, and the cost on our part to be paid by our town. At the same town meeting, John Williams senr., Robert Cue, Samuel Stone senr. & Benjamin Woodbury were chosen to serve on a jury of trials for the next session of the peace, & inferior court of pleas, to be holden at Salem on the last Tuesday of this instant month of December 1695. December the 20th, 1695. At a legal town meeting of the inhabitants of Beverly, was granted unto Robert Briscoe, leave to cut his sloop load of pine, hemlock & spruce wood on our town common and, near Mrs. Ann Woodbury her part, the which wood he the said Briscoe may take for his use. December the 20th, 1695 at a legal time meeting of the inhabitants of Beverly it was voted that every household belonging to our town, may cut green wood and timber on our town common, to the quantity of six cord, and to take the same for their use in the town, but all green oak and walnut is excepted in said vote.
