1694-07-25[Town Meeting July 25, 1694]
At a general town meeting of the freeholders and other inhabitants of the town of Beverly, who are by law
qualified to vote in town affairs, legally warned on the 25th day of July, 1694. Lieut. Andrew Elliott, Mr.
Zachariah Herrick, Deacon Peter Woodbury, John Balch & George Hull, were chosen assessors for the
town for the year ensuing, the above said persons serving according to law, on the seventh day of August,
1694. Mr. Samuel Balch, Town Clerk.
At a legal town meeting of the inhabitants of Beverly, July 25, 1694, it was voted that the Rev. Mr. John
Hale minister of the gospel amongst us, hath liberty to cut so much timber on town common land as will
build half the frame of the dwelling house, he is now in building of.
