1692-12-23[Town Meeting December 23, 1692] December the 23rd, 1692. At a general town meeting of the inhabitants of Beverly legally warned, Capt. William Rayment & John Sallows, were chosen to serve in the grand jury for sessions of the peace & inferior county pleas, to be holden at Salem for the year ensuing. At the same town meeting Corporal Samuel Corning & Joseph Herrick, were chosen to serve on the jury of trials, for the next sessions of the peace & inferior court of pleas, to be holden at Salem the last Tuesday of this instant December. At the same town meeting it was also voted and agreed to, that our town common shall be divided in order, whereunto it is also voted there shall be a general town meeting on Monday, which will be the second January next ensuing, to consider of some way for the dividing of our town common land, also they were then chosen Capt. William Rayment, Lieut. John Dodge, Deacon Peter Woodbury, Lieut. William Dodge & Nehemiah Grover as a committee to draw up some proposals in order thereunto.
