1690-07-03[Town Meeting, July 3, 1690] The 3rd July, 1690. At a general town meeting legally warned, Freeborn Balch was chosen constable, by the inhabitants then convened, for Bass River Ward in our town of Beverly, & to serve as a constable for one whole year, from the date hereof. At the same town meeting, Robert Briscoe was chosen constable for Mackerel Cove Ward in our town of Beverly, & to serve as a constable for one whole year from the date hereof. The 19 of June, 1690. Lieut. William Dodge, maulster, was allowed his town rate, William Elliott being then constable and stands indebted unto the town, must be deducted out of said Dodge's credit, elsewhere in this book one third of it money. £1:02:06.
