1694-02-23[Selectmen's Meeting February 23, 1694] Any meeting of the Selectmen on 23 February, 1693/4, Hazediah Smith Constable brought this receipt as followeth viz: Boston, January 19, 1693. Received that Mr. Hazediah Smith Constable of Beverly, fifty five pounds, five shillings & one penny by discount of order, & three pounds, nineteen shillings & three pence money, is in all fifty nine pounds, four shillings & four pence, in part of said town's assessment, For my master James Taylor, Treasurer. At the same meeting of the Selectmen on the 23r of February, 1693/4, then reckoned with Constable Hazediah Smith, with respect to the last assessment of the thirty thousand pound country rate, committed to him bearing date 23rd October, 1693, and he, the said Smith, has fully paid and he hath discharged said rate. Jer., Allen At the same meeting of the Selectmen February 23rd, 1693/4, then paid to Deacon John Hill the sum of one pound, eighteen shillings in money, the which is for the payment of the glazier, viz.: John Rogers of Salem, for the mending of the meeting house glass. At the same meeting of the Selectmen February 23, 1693/4, then reckoned with Capt. William Raymond, with respect to two week's service at General Court in the year 1689, & the town remained in his, the said Raymond's debt, on the account above said the sum of one pound in money. The above said one pound is fully paid to the above said Capt. William Raymond, at a meeting of the Selectmen this 5th March 1693.
