1693-12-22[Selectmen's Meeting December 22, 1693] At a meeting of the Selectmen the 22nd December, 1693, was two lists of assessments for William Hale's salary made, the overplus of Constable George Hull's list, being five pounds, two shillings & six pence, and the overplus of Constable Hazediah Smith's being six pounds and four pence, which they are to pay into the selectman for the use of the town. At a general meeting of the freeholders & other inhabitants of the town of Beverly, on the 22 d of December 1693, Lieut. Andrew Elliott, Deacon John Hill & Cpl. Thomas West, were chosen the committee for the orderly seating of people in our meeting house, as need doth or may require.
