1693-03-17[Selectmen's Meeting March 17, 1693] At a meeting of the Selectmen on 17 March 1692 -3 then reckoned with Lieut. John Dodge, who was Constable for the year 1691, for Mr. Hale's rate, and also for all country & town rates committed to him the said Dodge, during the time of his Constableship, he the said Dodge doth remain in the town's debt, on account of the rates above said, the sum of eleven pounds, eighteen shillings & six pence in or as money, & nine shillings & eight pence in pay. The nine shillings and eight pence paid this 20th, one, 1692/3. At the same meeting of the Selectmen, the above said John Dodge, made payment to the sum of one pound, fifteen shillings & three pence in money, to Lieut. Andrew Elliott, that is to say thirty shillings for said Elliott's clerkship, & five shillings & three pence for his service at General Court, and at the same meeting of the Selectmen, then reckoned with the above said Andrew Elliott, for service done by him at the General Court, and the town now remains in the said Elliott's debt, the sum of nineteen shillings & nine pence. At the same meeting of the Selectmen then reckoned with Capt. Paul Thorndike, for several concerns between the town & and the above said Capt. Thorndike, and he the above said Thorndike, of all former accounts remained in the town's debt the sum of one pound four shillings in money. At the same meeting of the Selectmen Jonathan Biles who was Constable for the year 1691, paid to the Selectmen in money £2:00:06 and £3:15:06.
