1692-07-12[Selectmen's Meeting July 12, 1692]
12th July, `91/2. Reckoned with Constable John Dodge, about & town rate committed to him in the year
1691, and he paid of said rate nineteen pounds, one shilling and ten pence £19:1:10.
12th July, 1692. Given a bill of 13 shillings to Matthew Butman, to be paid by Constable Biles out of the
town's rate, in pay for work done by said Butman for the town.
12th July, 92. Then reckoned with Constable Biles about the town rate committed to him in the year `91:
and said Biles hath paid £22:07:06 of said rate.
12th July, 1692. At a meeting of the Selectmen then reckoned with Deacon John Hill, and there remains
due on several former disbursements, seventeen shillings in or as money to said Hill 00:17:00.
August 14, 1693. Paid to Deacon John Hill 00:11:00 of the above said sum.
At the same meeting of the Selectmen, then discounted with Constable Dodge a part of Deacon
Woodbury his town's rate, which is eleven shillings, and with the said Constable for said Woodbury &
son Peter his town rate, which is for shillings.
Paid Freeborn Balch for the said Woodbury's ammunition rate, which is four shillings money. Paid
00:15:00. Money 00:04:00.
At the same meeting of the Selectmen a further reckoning with Constable Dodge, and he had paid of the
town rate committed to his gathering, twenty pounds, eighteen shillings and ten pence. £20:18:10.
At the same meeting of the selectmen, a further account of payment made by Jonathan Biles Constable
out of the town rate committed to his gathering, and he has paid of the said rate twenty -five pounds, and
eight shillings, together with abatements of several persons, he has paid and fully discharged the above
said rates.
12th July `92. Reckoned with Corporal Thomas West, and said West doth wholly acquit the town from
any or all former debts, which was due to said West.
12th July `92. Paid into Zachariah Herrick by Constable John Dodge, for one cord and a half of wood at
the watch house; & for handling one load & sawyers pline and 8 paid for [illegible].
12th July `92. Paid unto the widow Stone by Constable John Dodge, one pound in pay and three shillings,
two pence in money.
