1690-10-28[Selectmen October 28, 1690] The 28 of October, 1690. At a meeting of the Selectmen, farmer Thomas West was paid or allowed, by discounting his rate unto John Coy, Constable in money £00:10:08. At the same meeting of the said Selectman, it was considered by the persons in this record named viz: Thomas West, Thomas Woodburie [i. e. Woodbury] sr, Samuel Morgan sr, Samuel Corning junr, Roger Haskins, Robert Bradford sr, Robert Briscoe, John Coy & Andrew Elliott of the deplorable condition of Mr. Lawrence Dennis, God's hand being upon his wife & children, in the [illegible] disease of the smallpox, & wanting relief in their distress, the above named persons did each & every one of them, disburse one shilling from their earlier present supply in expectation.
