MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, JANUARY 14, 2013
LOCATION. Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road,

PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dawe, Dettorre, Faulstich, Mahoney, Nelson, Skerry,
Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioners DiPaolo and Forgione
PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Craig Schuster, Ken Robinson, Richard Chase, Charlene Chase,
Wes Rosen, Stephen Friedman, Joe Gibbons, Linda McCarthy, and John Bianchi
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for December 2012 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading
of the minutes from the December meeting. Commissioner White made a motion
to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion passed
unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report — Commissioner White presented the financial
report for December 2012. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the
December financial report, subject to audit. Commissioner Barnico seconded the
motion. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) —
Jacob's Engineering — Craig Schuster discussed the proposed Connolly
Construction project, announced that the airspace study and SWPP /SPCC
plans were complete and would be sent to us for our review, and submitted the
proposed contracts for the proposed West Ramp Reconstruction Project and
proposed SRE Building Expansion Project.
John Bianchi, Federal Air Marshall — A presentation of the Visible Intermodal
Prevention and Response (VIPR) Teams was made to the commission.
Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale reported that:
Ace Chase has installed approximately 7 or 8 airport directional signs in the
Maple Street, Conant Street, Burley Street areas. He also reported that he
wants to do a disaster drill tabletop exercise.
B. OLD BUSINESS:

1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney reported
that there would be a Barracks Building RFP meeting as soon as possible.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — No Report
• Facility Maintenance — Commissioner Faulstich reported that Coastal Pool, a
sub - tenant of Linda McCarthy, had still not cleaned up the back of the
Barracks Building.
• Website Management Subcommittee — Chairman Vitale reported for
Commissioner Forgione who was absent. He reported that the airport website
had 866 hits in December and also requested of the commission, "What do
you want to do with the neighborhood abutter database info ?"
• Public Relations Subcommittee — No Report
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — Commissioner Barnico updated the commission on the proposed
revised watershed ordinance and updated them on the current NSCC Aviation
Science Program.
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — Commissioner Skerry said he
would be willing to make future safety meeting arrangements.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collection, proposed Connolly development, a letter he sent to NAA
evidencing their sublease with American Renal Associates, Autoliv vehicle testing,
latest FAA BVY Airport Diagram, updated SRE building expansion, Cailin Road solar
farm, and 3 1 /z snow storm.
D. NEW BUSINESS None
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
• Ace Chase reported no deer sightings and only an occasional coyote sighting.
Wes Rosen, Tower Chief, reported one (1) seagull strike by a Challenger jet. He
further reported air traffic was a little down but air taxi operations were still up (1,429
for the year vs. 826 the year before). He also said Hangar #12 tenant Angier Ames got
a new Lancer aircraft.

• Ken Robinson reported his business was slow due to winter and that the American
Renal Associates Hawker jet was "up and running" at Hangar #49.
Joe Gibbons reported that the North Shore Aero Club has 60 members and some on a
waiting list.
F. COMMISSION COMMENTS
• Commissioner Dettorre asked for a motion to approve $4,354.00 for the purchase of a
14' pusher plow for the airport's front end loader. Commissioner Faulstich seconded
the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Barnico said there was an article in the Salem News about the proposed
solar panel farm.
G. ADJOURNMENT:
Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Faulstich, seconded by Commissioner Barnico. Motion
passed unanimously at 9:28 PM.
