MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dawe, Dettorre, Faulstich, Forgione, Mahoney, Vitale,
and White
ABSENT: Commissioners DiPaolo and Nelson
PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Wes Rosen, Jim Baker, Tony Bettencourt, Joe Gibbons, Bill
Kossowan, Chris Negrotti, and Peter Skerry
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for July 2012 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the July meeting. Commissioner Dettorre made a motion to accept
the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Dawe. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report — Commissioner White presented the financial
report for July 2012. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the July
financial report, subject to audit. The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Barnico. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) —
• Jacob's Engineering — Dave Graham talked about the East Ramp
Reconstruction Project Pre - Construction meeting.
• Beverly Fire Chief, Paul Cotter — Cancelled
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale:
• Talked about the control tower traffic count statistics
• Informed the commission that the new Airport Rules & Regulations need
review by the City Solicitor
• Introduced Peter Skerry, a proposed new airport commissioner
• Talked about proposed name for the West Side airport road
B. OLD BUSINESS:

1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney talked about
the possible development options for the Barracks Building.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — No Report
• Facility Maintenance — Commissioner Faulstich reported the results of his
recent facility inspections.
• Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner Forgione reported that
the airport abutter database was done. He also said the website received 1,313
hits in July. He suggested the airport sell shirts and hats.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — No Report
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — Commissioner Barnico reported on the proposed revised watershed
ordinance.
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — Commissioner Dettorre said Fire
Chief Cotter's presentation has been deferred until September.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collection, brush cutting, perimeter road, tree removal, pavement data
report, East Ramp reconstruction, Hutchins update, illegal dumping, and temporary
transient spaces.
D. NEW BUSINESS
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
AOPA representative Bill Kossowan gave an update on AOPA's "Walk About"
program and talked on the contract tower program and drone use in America.
Wes Rosen, Tower Chief, informed the commission of a FAA control tower inspection
on 8/20/12.
• Jim Baker said the painting of Hangars 2 and 3 are complete.

• Joe Gibbons of North Shore Aero Club said they have 60 members and 3 aircraft.
Ken Robinson of North Atlantic Air talked about his hangar addition project and about
trash dumped on the West Side access road.

Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Faulstich, seconded by Commissioner Forgione.
Motion passed unanimously.
