2012-01-10Beverly Golf & Tennis Commission January 10, 2012 Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners Mr. Lowd Mr. Crandell Mr. Lawler Mr. Barger Mr. Lambert GFMI Mr. Carter Mr. McHugh Opening Remarks Mr. Lowd welcomed the Commission members & GFMI to the January meeting. Previous Meeting Minutes Mr. Lawler motioned to accept the minutes taken in December seconded by Mr. Crandall. Motion passed 5 -0. Finance Report Mr. Lawler distributed the YTD budget reports to the Commission members. The Carter Report Mr. Carter indicated that the rounds thru December were down about 8% overall sighting excessive rain fall causing unplayable conditions and general economy as the main factors. This fits in line with other courses in the area. Overall, 125 members are still paying for next year with deposits made, 8 are new members, at 225 members with a goal of 250 for 2012. This will be an increase of 25 members. Green covers are on for 6 greens. At start of next season, an inventory of greens covers will be made and those needing replacement will be discussed. Maintenance Building (New) Scheduling Excavation has taken place at the new site and will be ready for the steel to arrive by next meeting. Chronological photos were reviewed of the progress to date. Floor drains need to be finalized, water and utilities have been brought in from the street and are ready. Open questions were regarding inclusion of garage doors and light fixtures in the bid? Maintenance Building (Old) Anticipating continued filings with the DEP. The Tennis Report Closed for the season The McHugh Report There is still work to be done in the pump house to repair some equipment, Brian still waiting for 2 quotes on this. Motion made, seconded and passed 5 -0, to put a cedar barrier between the driving range and the 9 th fairway to prevent carts from driving into the driving range. The approval was NTE $3750. The Page Report Clubhouse & Pub: No major activity and Pub is on a "call" basis for any opening during this period. The Dunn Report The 2012 recommended Season Rates have been presented to the City Council.
