MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2011

PRESENT: Commissioners Dawes, Dettorre, DiPaolo, Faulstich, Forgione, Mahoney, Nelson,
Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioner Barnico
PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Craig Schuster, Ken Robinson, Kendylle Robinson, Richard Chase,
Charlene Chase, Wes Rosen, Tony Bettencourt, Chris Negrotti, Joe Gibbons, and
Bill Kossowan
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for November 2011 — Chairman Vitale called for a reading
of the minutes from the November meeting. Commissioner Nelson made a motion
to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion passed
unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report — Commissioner White presented the financial
report for November 2011. Commissioner Faulstich made a motion to accept the
report, subject to audit. Motion was seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney.
Motion passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) —
• Craig Schuster of Jacobs Engineering updated the commission on the FY12
East Ramp and TXY "G" Reconstruction and SWPPP Project.
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale...
• Informed the commission that Wayside Trailers and Hawkeye were each
paying $1,000 per month for container and equipment storage fees
• Talked about his work in procuring free gravel, loam, and grading for the
airport
• Informed the commission of Sue McEvoy's Happy Holidays message
• Outlined the 2012 commission agenda e.g. obtaining West Side Ramp
reconstruction approval, hosting Wings & Wheels again next year, updating

the Airport Rules and Regulations and Minimum Standards, West Side Access
Road Reconstruction, and obtaining WAAS for RW's 9, 27, and 34
B. OLD BUSINESS:
1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney updated the
commission on the status of the Great Circle Central lease ( Ellrich hangar
development).
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney will check on a
helicopter noise complaint over the Thorpe Circle area.
• Facility Maintenance and Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner
Forgione reported 960 hits on the airport website for the month of November
and has talked with an individual who is willing to donate vintage pictures of
Beverly Airport.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — No Report
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — No Report
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — Commissioner Dettorre will check
with the Beverly Fire Chief about having another disaster drill in the spring.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collections, Mercedes -Benz vehicle testing by Autoliv, status of Ellrich
hangar, update on sale of airport parcel by Cicoria Tree Service, dog park use, East
Ramp and TXY "G" Reconstruction & SWPPP project status, parking and security
light repairs /installations, airfield identifier sign maintenance, and snow removal
preparations.

E. TENANT COMMENTS:
• Wildlife Management — Ace Chase reported one (1) deer and one (1) coyote killed.

• Ace Chase reported that the MALS baffle repair /replacement is complete.
• Bill Kossowan provided an update on user fees.
• Joe Gibbons provided an update on North Shore Aero Club activities.

passed unanimously.
