MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2011
LOCATION. Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road,

PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, DiPaolo, Faulstich, Forgione, Mahoney, Vitale,
and White
ABSENT: Commissioner Nelson
PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Wes Rosen, Ken Robinson, Richard Chase, Charlene Chase, Tony
Bettencourt, and Joe Gibbons
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for July 2011 —Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the July meeting. Commissioner White made a motion to accept the
minutes, seconded by Commissioner Barnico. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report — Commissioner White presented the financial
report for July 2011. Commissioner Dettorre made a motion to accept the report,
subject to audit. Motion was seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion
passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) —
• Dave Graham of Jacobs Engineering reported that the new Jeppesen showing
the new RW 16 minimums will be published August 19, 2011 and will be in
effect on August 25, 2011.
• Ken Robinson of NAA requested approval for a sublease within his master
lease with Atlantic Air Services. Commissioner White made a motion to accept
the sublease, seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed
unanimously.
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale talked about...
• A proposed C.I.P. meeting with MassDOT /Aeronautics and FAA and the need
for an internal meeting before that meeting
• Wings & Wheels event will have approximately 200 cars and the car event
people want to charge admission

B. OLD BUSINESS:
1) Subcommittee Reports
Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney reported on
the need to talk to the Mayor about a faster parcel sale process regarding
airport parcels. He said a twenty -two month process for a parcel sale is too
long and jeopardizes our C.I.P. schedule.
Noise Abatement Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney and Chairman
Vitale will visit NOW City Tours regarding BVY noise abatement. (NOW City
Tours is a helicopter tour business located in Hangar #47. They are based here
and purchase fuel here but perform their operational flying from a helipad in
Revere. Their customer base is a Boston tourist.
• Facility Maintenance and Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner
Forgione reported on the results of the recent airport facility inspections.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — Commissioner DiPaolo will hand out Wings
& Wheels posters at Logan Airport. He will also talk with a potential hot dog
and ice cream vendor to attend the event.
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — Commissioner Barnico reported that the North Shore Community
College Aviation Science Program has been re- accredited for five (5) years.
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — No Report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly
landing fee collections, TXY `B" Crack Repair Project status, MassDOT /Aeronautics'
request for airport sign standardization, letters to politicians regarding FAA partial
shutdown, Ellrich hangar site plan approval application, natural gas at Hangar #49,
proposed C.I.P. meeting dates, airship schedule, Mercedes -Benz testing by Autoliv,
Cat Aviation hangar update, wildlife report, and motorcycle poker run on 8/6/11.
D. NEW BUSINESS: None
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
Ace Chase reported seeing one (1) deer. He also announced the airport cookout would be
at his hangar on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 1:00PM.

Joe Gibbons from North Shore Aero Club gave an update on the proposed merger with
the M. I. T. Flying Club.
