2011-07BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, JULY 11, 2011 LOCATION. Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road, Beverly, MA, 01915 PRESENT: Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, Faulstich, Forgione, Nelson, Vitale, and White ABSENT: Commissioners DiPaolo and Mahoney PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Craig Schuster, Ken Robinson, Jim Baker, Richard Chase, Charlene Chase, Bill Kossowan, Tony Bettencourt, and Joe Gibbons A. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 1. Pledge of Allegiance 2. Reading of the Minutes for June 2011 —Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the minutes from the June meeting. Commissioner White made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed unanimously. 3. Reading of the Financial Report — No formal report. YTD Budget Report Thru May 2011 and Revised Proposed FY12 Budget included in commission packets. 4. Presentation(s) — • Craig Schuster of Jacobs Engineering reported the Taxiway `B" Crack Repair Project should start the beginning of August and that there is no federal funding yet for the Airspace Surveys Project. Dave Graham reported that BVY should have a LPV (WAAS) approach to RW 16 by August 25 They will also do approach studies on RW's 27 and 34. They are considering a conceptual study on RW 9. 5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale talked about... • Including mesh in the fencing that will separate the dog park from the Airport Admin/Maint building • Adding pictures of all airport buildings on the airport's website • Receiving proceeds from the sale of airport parcel to Cicoria in November B. OLD BUSINESS: 1) Subcommittee Reports 1 BEVERLY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, JULY 11, 2011 Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee — Chairman Vitale reported that the Purchase & Sales Agreement has been signed between Cicoria Tree Service and the City of Beverly. He also reported that it appears the Hutchins' are going forward with a trial-by-jury regarding the tree cutting that was done on their property. • Noise Abatement Subcommittee — No Report • Facility Maintenance and Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner Forgione reported that all airport building pictures were on the airport website; he also reported that NAA fuel prices were now included. The website received 1,495 hits in June. • Public Relations Subcommittee — No Report • Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program Update) — Commissioner Barnico reported that North Shore Community College had increased its tuition. • Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — Commissioner Dettorre reported that there would be no disaster drill exercise this year. C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT: Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count and the monthly landing fee collections, the formation of a City Council Subcommittee to review and report on proposed revisions to the Watershed Ordinance, RW 16 LPV (WAAS) Approach, Taxiway `B" Crack Repair Project, new airport directory signage, fence repair, taxiway light outage, contract tower security changes, and the Mass Statewide Airport System Plan. D. NEW BUSINESS: None E. TENANT COMMENTS: • Bill Kossowan provided an AOPA update and FAA safety seminar info. He also reported that Cruise Night was slowly growing. Joe Gibbons from North Shore Aero Club reported that the MIT Flying Club may be merging with them.
