05/11/10 Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Opening Remarks:
Mr. Lowd stated that they just returned from a tour of the course and found it in
excellent condition. He also indicated that Mr. Murphy had started the work that
was mentioned at the April meeting.
Minutes of April 13, 2010:
Mr Richardson motioned to accept the minutes of April, seconded by Mr.
Crandall. Motion carried 4 -0.
Finance Report:
Mr. Lowd stated that Mr. Lawler could not attend this evenings meeting and the
Finance Report for May will be discussed at next months meeting.
Management Contract:
Mr. Dunn stated the Mr. Gelineau was working on a complete version of the
GFMI Contract and when it is complete will be distributed to the Commission.
BGT Site Projects:
Pro Shop:
Mr. Dunn stated that Mr. Daneault, ADA Liason for the City of Beverly, is
hospitalized and they have not been able to obtain any direction from him
regarding the entrance, a cabinet or wheelchair access. He also indicated that
the quote for the electrical, wiring, framing and finish work is all set.
Mr. Dunn stated that the next year budget will most likely be the same as this
year and will discuss it in detail with Mr. Lawler.
Chair Lift
Mr. Dunn stated that the type of chair lift presented at last months meeting will
not pass ADA specifications needed for the club house. He also indicated that
they city owns a chair lift that can be utilized for the upcoming functions but will
continue to investigate what will be ADA compliant. He stated that the ADA
wants access to all three floors.
Maintenance Building
Mr. Lowd addressed Mr. Dunn and asked if the Maintenance can be constructed
on the last tennis court that is not being used.
Mr. Dunn stated that if it does not interfer with operation and there is sufficient
space he would look at a proposal.
Tennis:
Mr. LaPierre has stated that there are ten courts up and running. The burst pipes
in the tennis building have been repaired. The reclaying of the courts cost
$15,750, the screens have been hung, fencing has been fixed. He also indicated
that the Beverly High School has started their tennis season.
The Course:
Mr. Murphy stated that 9, 5, and 10 holes are currently under construction and 12
will be next. He also stated that he is working on sidewalks and cart paths. Mr.
Collins will estimate the hot top costs.
Mr. Murphy asked about the grinders that were to be purchased for Bass River.
Mr. Lowd indicated that he would look back in the minutes to review what
decision the BGT made regarding the grinders.
Mr. Crandall indicated that money should be put into the course to bring in more
revenue first.
Mr. Carter stated that opening day was a success; 88 golfers, lunch spread,
casual setting... all went well. All members did and will check into the pro shop to
keep count.
Facilities /Function Room
Mr. Page indicated that they have a wedding booked and stated the chair lift that
needed to be present. He also stated that there is frequent calls for everyday
maintenance; and asked what the protocol is for repairs that need an outside
maintenance company to be called.
