2010-02-09Beverly Golf & Tennis Commission 2/9/10 Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. In Attendance: Mr. Lowd Mr. Klein Mr. Barger Mr. Crandell Mr. Lawler From Bass River Mngt: Manny Barros Nick Crovetti Opening Remarks: Mr. Lowd welcomed the Commission members present this evening and reviewed the items on the agenda that would be discussed. Minutes of January 12, 2010 Mr. Lawler motioned to approve the minutes of January as presented, seconded by Mr. Klein. Motion carried 5 -0. Finance Report Mr. Barger motioned to accept the Finance Report as presented, seconded by Mr. Klein. Motion carried 5 -0. RFP Management Contract Mr. Dunn explained that the deadline for RFP submission is February 11, and the quantity they receive will depend on how long the process will take. They will first determine who will meet minimum criteria; services and qualifications and will then submit them to the Commission for review. The City has the right to reject all submissions and has the option to operate the BGT Club on their own. If the Commission decided to consider any of the RFP's, they will then be presented to Mayor Scanlon. If Bass River resolved their financial issues then they can exercise an option. The Mayor will then decide what is in the best interest of the City. The Bass River is working of a 10 -day contract. Mr. Dunn also stated that the credit card payments will be processed through the City and not through Bass River. The monies received will be placed in an escrow account. Mr. Barros stressed his concern regarding signed banquet contracts for the upcoming season and how to move forward with them. Mr. Crovetti indicated that they have about 8 or 9 tournaments already books for the season. BGT Site Project Status Mr. Dunn stated that the steel has arrived for the new building and the old building is scheduled for demolition. The storage trailers will arrive on February 16, will schedule to have utilities tied off and the clean up of the soil will be done. Mr. Dunn also stated that the Pro -Shop updating and redesign has been placed on hold but assured Mr. Crovetti that it will get done. Meeting Opened to Public Mr. Savoy asked the Commission to allow Bass River and Mr. Barros an option to continue operating the BGT. Mr. Lawler motioned to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Klein Motion carried 5 -0. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm.
