2010-12-14Beverly Golf & Tennis Commission 12/14/10 Meeting Minutes Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. In Attendance: Commissioners Mr. Lowd Mr. Ascolillo Mr. Barger Mr. Lambert Mr. Lawler Mr. Richardson GFMI Mr. Carter Mr. Dion Mr. Page Opening Remarks Mr. Lowd welcomed all to the December meeting of the BGT. Minutes of December Mr. Lawler motioned to accept the minutes of November, seconded by Mr. Ascolillo. Motion carried 6 -0. Finance Report Mr. Lawler distributes and reviews Finance Reports to the Commission. He did indicate that the maintenance account was in good shape. Mr. Lambert motioned to accept the Finance Report, seconded by Mr. Barger. Motion carried 6 -0. Video Mr. Lowd has created a video of the changes made to the facility and course and plays it for the Commission. New Maintenance Building Mr. Dunn received initial sketches that look good. He indicated that the Building Inspector and Planning Directors will review them but nothing will progress until March 2011. The Carter Report Mr. Carter stated that November was fairly quiet; 35,000 rounds, 20 new members, phones are ringing with new leagues, tournaments being scheduled for 2011. The goal for 2011 is 40,000 rounds and he also indicated he is satisfied with the number for 2010. Tennis The tennis building has been weatherized and is closed up. Mr. LaPierre will return in the spring. The Burt Page Report Mr. Page stated that business has dropped 50% with the season change. He is focusing on attracting the public. He also indicated that the window treatments are complete. Nicole Page, Function Coordinator, has stated weddings are being schedule due to the new window treatments. She is also focusing on attracting the public, breakfast on weekends, theme nights, closing Monday and Tuesdays, but will schedule functions year round. She did indicate that the heating, windows and outside railings need repair. Mr. Dunn indicated that certain repairs are complicated due to the Gale Report. Mass. Historical Commission Mr. Dunn indicated that the Mass. Historical Commission has all the necessary documents but he has not heard from them at this time. Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm.
