1. Old Business:
a. Tina Cassidy reported that the HP patrols in December were profitable. We
will discuss future patrols at our next meeting. Tina will obtain a printout of
the HP tickets for the past few months.
b. The Commission requested a ruling from the City Solicitor's Office re:
revenue for services rendered. The City Solicitor's Office ruled that the
commission could charge a reasonable fee for services rendered with the
revenue being placed into the commission's account.
c. Jeffrey Dougan reported that a House Bill 2883 submitted by Rep. Bruce
Ayers of Quincy would remove control of handicapped parking fines from
the Commission on Disabilities. The bill will require the creation of a new
board to control use of the revenue and put the fines into the general funds.
d. Jeffrey Dougan also states that the MA office on disabilities will conduct a
final inspection of the new High School before the City of Beverly accepts
ownership of the building.
The next meeting of the Commission is May 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at City
Hall, 3 rd floor.
