Public Meeting Minutes

Board members present: Margaret Altman, Mary Behrle, Alyse Gause, John Kelley, Anthony
Kline, Neil Olson, Kevin O'Reilly, and Joanne Panunzio
Board members absent:

Kevin O'Reilly presided.
Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Anthony Kline, to accept the minutes of October 26,
2010 as read. Motion passed.
Public Presentation
None
Committee Reports
Personnel: John Kelley will set up a meeting with Assistant Library Director, Library Director
and Chair to begin employment contract process.
Administration: No report.
Finance: No report.
Long Range Planning: At Alyse Gause's request, Mary Behrle explained how she helped
facilitate the long range planning process for other libraries. Long Range Plan is due October 1,
2011. Trustees discussed whether to do another survey. Trustees discussed whether a special
committee should be formed.
Anthony Kline made the motion, seconded by Margaret Altman, to:
Adjourn from the regular meeting and convene a meeting of the long range
planning committee. Motion passed.
Regular meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
Regular meeting convened at 8:15 PM.
Report of the Library Director
1) FY2011 Budget: Patricia Cirone reported that budget is on track. 2) Security Cameras:
Patricia Cirone has received a bid from another security camera company. 3) LCD Projector:
Ceiling mounted lcd projector will be installed in the Sohier Room on November 23. 4) All Staff
Meeting: Next meeting will be held in December. The police are working on a workplace
violence prevention initiative, with some input from library staff This will be presented at the
March all staff meeting. 5) Job Opening: A job offer has been made to fill the assistant reference
librarian position. 6) Bookmobile: New bookmobile came to the library last week to make sure
that it fits into the garage. There is still work to be done on the interior and exterior. 7)
Community Read: Community -wide reading program, Tinkers, has ended. The library may
coordinate with the Hamilton - Wenham library again. 8) Upcoming Events: Wreath making
December 4, Nutcracker tea December 5, Author talk December 9, Red Cross blood drive
December 15, Gingerbread house workshop December 11, CPR training for staff December 13.
9) Parking Lot: At the suggestion of the police, traffic flow in the library parking lot has been
reversed.

Unfinished Business
1) Action Plan: Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Joanne Panunzio, to:
accept the FY2012 Action Plan as presented. Motion passed.
New Business
None
The next meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Bella Mia.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 PM.
