Olson, Kevin O'Reilly, and Joanne Panunzio
Board members absent: Alyse Gause

Kevin O'Reilly presided.
Joanne Panunzio made the motion, seconded by Neil Olson, to accept the minutes of September
28, 2010 as read. Motion passed.

Personnel: No report.
Administration: No report.
Finance: No report.
Long Range Planning: No report.
Report of the Library Director
1) FY2011 Budget: Patricia Cirone reported that current budget is on track. 2) National Grid:
Patricia Cirone reported that Mike Collins and David Gelineau are now trying to get answers
from National Grid regarding electric bills. 3) Security Cameras: Patricia Cirone is waiting for an
additional bid from another security camera company. 4) Employment Contracts for Director and
Assistant Director: Assistant City Solicitor approved employment contracts. The Mayor needs to
sign contracts. 5) LCD Projector: Installation date for ceiling mounted LCD projector has not
been set. 6) State Aid Financial Report: Report has been sent to MBLC. Based on the MAR, the
library is requesting a waiver. 7) Security Training for Staff. Patricia Cirone will be meeting with
Chief Ray to discuss security training at the next staff meeting. 8) Job Opening: Theresa
Maturevich, assistant reference librarian, has resigned to accept another job. First round of
interviews have been completed. 9) Bookmobile: New bookmobile should be ready in January.
Communications
Kevin O'Reilly distributed information on the joint Friends and Library Trustee conference.
Unfinished Business
1) Action Plan: Patricia Cirone reviewed the draft for the FY2012 action plan.
New Business
1) Long Range Planning: Patricia Cirone asked if trustees want to conduct a survey as part of the
next long range plan. Trustees will review previous survey before November meeting. 2) Book
Sale: November 13 -21. 3) Long Range Planning Facilitation: Mary Behrle explained how she
used to help facilitate long range planning for libraries and offered her expertise during the long
range planning process for the Beverly Public Library.
The next meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Beverly
Public Library.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
