MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2011
LOCATION. Beverly Airport Administration/Maintenance Building, 46 L. P. Henderson Road,

PRESENT: Commissioners Dettorre, DiPaolo, Forgione, McEvoy, Nelson, Vitale, and White
ABSENT: Commissioners Barnico and Mahoney
PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Craig Schuster, Ken Robinson, Jim Baker, Richard Chase, Charlene
Chase, and Bill Kossowan
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for January 2011 —Chairman Vitale called for a reading of
the minutes from the January meeting. Commissioner White made a motion to
accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner DiPaolo. Motion passed
unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report — Commissioner White presented the financial
report for January 2011. Commissioner DiPaolo made a motion to accept the
report, subject to audit. Motion was seconded by Commissioner McEvoy and
passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) — Craig Schuster of Jacobs Engineering updated the commission on
the Taxiway `B" Crack Repair Project as well as the Airspace Study Project. Dave
Graham provided an update on a proposed wind turbine in Manchester-By-The-
Sea, MA.
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale talked about...
• A meeting with Mr. Vilarti regarding the cutting of 2 -3 trees on his property in
back of the Hutchins'

• Facility Maintenance and Website Management Subcommittee — Commissioner
Forgione reported that the airport website now has a Facebook logo. The
website received 964 hits in the month of January and 446 hits as of February
14, 2011. He also reported that the peak for hits was June - September.
• Public Relations Subcommittee — Commissioner DiPaolo will see Airport
Manager Mezzetti about mailing out information on advertising on airport
fences.
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — No Report
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — No Report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee
collections, MassDOT- Aviation Crack Repair and Pavement Marking Program, the status of
FYI C.I.P. projects, City of Beverly dog park, Civil Air Patrol snow removal assistance,
January snow storms, and airport maintenance.
D. NEW BUSINESS:
• BAC approval for dog park
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
Ken Robinson reported on a NAA short -term lease involving the Air Force, Lockheed
Martin, and Wayside Container. They will be involved with monitoring space junk. He
also reported that the MIT Flying Club might be relocating from Bedford to his area at
Beverly. Finally, Ken has switched his fuel from Exxon to Shell and will be selling fuel for
less.
Jim Baker announced he has established a $1,000 scholarship, the Arthur Allen
Scholarship, in honor of Arthur Allen.
