MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2010

PRESENT: Commissioners Dettorre, DiPaolo, Forgione, Mahoney, McEvoy, Nelson, Vitale,
and White
ABSENT: Commissioner Barnico
PUBLIC: Dave Graham, Craig Schuster, Ken Robinson, Kendylle Wessell, Jim Baker,
Richard Chase, Charlene Chase, Trish Nestor, Tony Bettencourt, Angier Ames,
Tom Lyons, Dan Parsons, and Dave Meuse
A. CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for November 2010 —Chairman Vitale called for a reading
of the minutes from the November meeting. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a
motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion
passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report — Commissioner White presented the financial
report for November 2010. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the
report, subject to audit. Motion was seconded by Commissioner McEvoy and
passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s) — None
5. Chairman's Report — Chairman Vitale talked about...
• The declining deer population at the airport
• The benefits of having Richard Chase appointed the airport's Wildlife Officer
for $100 per month. The money would cover ammunition and fuel expenses.
Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to appoint Richard Chase as the
Wildlife Officer. Motion was seconded by Commissioner DiPaolo and passed
unanimously.
• The reporting of any deer taken down on the airport to the Environmental
Police and the disposing of any deer by Martin H. Burns of Newbury, MA.
• Taxiway "Bravo" crack repairs on the C. I. P.
• The expiration of the Doozer lease in 2013

• Revamping the Airport Rules and Regulations after January 2011
Tree cutting that is needed on the West Side to ensure aircraft safety.
Commissioner DiPaolo made a motion to engage Murphy Tree Cutting to do
the cutting, not to exceed $7,000. Motion was seconded by Commissioner
Forgione and passed unanimously.
B. OLD BUSINESS:
1) Subcommittee Reports
• Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee —
Vice Chairman Mahoney updated the commission on Commissioner Barnico,
who suffered a heart attack and was at Beverly Hospital.
Vice Chairman Mahoney updated the commission on the status of the Cicoria
land parcel.
Vice Chairman Mahoney also reported on the results of the RFQ for Airport
Engineering Consultant. Commissioner Dettorre made a motion to retain the
engineering and planning services of Jacobs Engineering. Motion was seconded
by Commissioner White and passed unanimously.
• Noise Abatement Subcommittee — Vice Chairman Mahoney reported there
were no aircraft noise complaints in November.
• Facility Maintenance and Website Management Subcommittee — No Report
• Public Relations Subcommittee — Commissioners DiPaolo and McEvoy
provided an update on the fence advertisements.
• Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Science Program
Update) — No Report
• Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee — No Report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee
collections, Michael Costales Memorial Scholarship, Ron Vitale non -tax payment, and airport
maintenance.

D. NEW BUSINESS:
BAC Officer Elections — Commissioner McEvoy made a motion to re -elect Paul Vitale as
Chairman and Bill Mahoney as Vice Chairman. Motion was seconded by Commissioner
Dettorre and passed unanimously.
E. TENANT COMMENTS:
• Ken Robinson gave kudos on the airport's appearance
• Ace Chase talked about the status of airport wildlife
• Tom Lyons said the CAP- Beverly Squadron would see more missions
F. COMMISSION COMMENTS: None

Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Forgione.
Motion passed unanimously at 7:19PM.
