2010-08-25 Beverly CATV Advisory Commission Meeting DATE: August 25,2010 LOCATION: BevCam office, Beverly High School, Beverly, Ma. TIME: 7:00 P.M. COMMISSION MEMBERS: Daniel Murphy - Chairman, George Johnson, Al Torsey, Eric Overberg, Kim Allyn, Neil Overberg -Alternate. COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: Daniel Murphy - Chairman, Eric Overberg, George Johnson, Al Torsey, and Kim Allyn. PUBLIC: o Donald Berman, Walter Kosmowski, (BEVCAM). A quorum being present the meeting was called to order at 6:59 P.M. · Communications and correspondence: None o Old business: o The July minutes were amended, voted on, and accepted. o Operation alert: Meeting scheduled on September 17 with Mayor Scanlon at 9:00 to form an outline for the program. · Public survey: George summarized the results of the 78 responses received so far. He is still analyzing the results while awaiting more returns. Discussion followed. Thanks again to George Johnson for his efforts. · Meeting with city council: Meeting will be, Tuesday, September ih, at 7:00 P.M. in city hall chambers. Daniel Murphy presented a 15 minute outline for the meeting. Discussion followed. · Other cable providers: Dan Murphy is seeking a template for an RFP. · BevCam business plan: Almost finished per Donald Berman. Its flow when complete is to BevCam board for review, and a vote, then to CATV AC and finally to William Hewig for inclusion in the new contract with Com cast. · CATV AC Business plan: In progress per Daniel Murphy. o New business: · BevCam report: Walter Kosmowski presented the Julv BevCam report re: staff, production schedule, project outreach, technical issues and financials. · Public hearing: Date set for September 21,2010 at the senior center. It will be advertised on Sept. 9th and Sept. 16th in the Salem News and the Beverly Citizen. Daniel Murphy passed out a copy of the press release to be published. Much discussion followed. Daniel Murphy also sent a notice to Jane Wyman of Comcast on hearing. · Public meeting laws: The new laws on posting of public meetings were discussed · Open issues o Questionnaire to Beverly department heads. o BevCam budget and strategic plan. o CATV AC Business plan o Public hearing o Public survey o Search for new commission members o Waiting response from Mike Collins. o RFP's for other vendors should be published in June. o Operation alert.
