Beverly CATV Advisory Commission Meeting

LOCATION: BevCam office, Beverly High School, Beverly, Ma.

COMMISSION MEMBERS:
Daniel Murphy - Chairman, George Johnson, Al Torsey, Eric Overberg, Kim Allyn, Neil
Overberg -Alternate.
COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:
Daniel Murphy - Chairman, Eric Overberg" George Johnson and Kim Allyn.
PUBLIC:
o Donald Berman, Walter Kosmowski, (BEVCAM).
A quorum being present the meeting was called to order at 7:03 P.M.
o Communications and correspondence: None
George Johnson received a call regarding Comcast's changes to their programming.
Daniel Murphy will send a letter to Jane Lyman asking that she notify the commission on future
changes so the commission can answer customers' questions.
o Old business:
o The May minutes were, voted on, and accepted.
o Operation alert: BevCam reported that their board approved a plan and it was submitted
to the Mayor for approval.
o Survey: Daniel Murphy passed out about 100 completed surveys. Discussion followed
on how to tabulate the results. George Johnson offered to build an Excel table to do this.
Walt Kosmowski put the electronic version on BevCam's web site, No results yet,
o Meeting with city council: Dan Murphy talked with Paul Guanci for a possible July 6
date.
o Arts fest: Dan Murphy attended; most attendees were from out of town.
o Eric Overberg and George Johnson will meet to write summary of April 14th meeting
with Mike Collins, Dir DPW,
o New business:
o Walter Kosmowski presented the May BevCam report re: staff, production
schedule, project outreach, technical issues and financials.
o Public hearing: Date set for September 21,2010 at the senior center.
o Other cable providers: Dan Murphy will contact the city solicitor on this.
· Open issues
o Questionnaire to Beverly department heads.
o BevCam budget and strategic plan.
o Public hearing
o Public survey
o Search for new commission members
o Waiting response from Mike Collins.
o City council briefing on survey.
o RFP's for other vendors should be published in June.
The next meeting is Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at BevCam.
At 8: 17 P.M. the meeting was adjourned.
