Bruce calls the meeting to order.

1. 55 Dod2e Street - North Beverly Plaza - Unleashed by Petco - Dulcie Livin2ston -

The applicant states that he will use individual channel letters. He presents color samples, and
says that the letters are 15-16 inches.
Finch states that he is concerned about illuminating the orange stripe because it is very bright.
He adds that it is a break from the standard for the North Beverly Plaza.
Bruce asks if theses are corporate colors and Livingston states that they are.
Newhall states that she can include the recommendation that the orange stripe not be illuminated
in her letter.
Newhall: Motion to approve the sign as presented with the recommendation to refrain from
illuminating the orange stripe, seconded Bruce. Passes 3-0.
2. 174 Cabot Street - Mint. LLC - Nancy J. McCarthy. 17 Crowninshield Road.
Marblehead. MA 01945
Linda Moskow states that this will be a high-end consignment store and the sign will be
projecting. She describes the colors.
Finch: Motion to approve as presented, seconded by Bruce. Passes 3-0.

Jacqueline Martin states that this is a sign panel for the existing freestanding sign near the road.
She adds that the store is a wedding consignment store.
Finch: Motion to approve as presented, seconded by Bruce. Passes 3-0.
4. 147 Cabot Street - Beverly Holistic Health - Sandwich Board Si2n - John Coville. 146

John Coville states that this is for a sandwich board sign.
Newhall states that it is a very nice sign and it meets all of the zoning regulations.
Finch: Motion to recommend that the Council approve this sign, seconded by Bruce. Passes 3-0.
5. 186 Cabot Street - Clay Dreamin2 - Tracie Koeplin. 67 Revere Street. Gloucester. MA
01930
Tracie Koeplin states that this is across the street from City Hall. She states that these single
PVC letters will be mounted on the building, and lit with gooseneck lighting.
Finch: Motion to approve the sign design as presented, seconded by Bruce. Passes 3-0.

6. 302/292 Rantoul Street - Italian Community Center. Beverly. MA 01915
Architect Brian d'Louiso states that the ICC plans to expand their current operation into the
neighboring site. He states that they will use the original brick specification.
Bruce asks about handicapped access and ICC President Steve Tosi states that there is parking in
the parking lot and an entrance.
Newhall asks if there is anything that can be done to avoid having a solid brick fa<;ade. She
suggests adding art or something that will make it more visually appealing.
Finch agrees with Newhall stating that the building is currently unappealing and they are
expanding the unappealing nature of the building.
D'Louiso states that they are challenged with the mechanical systems in the building.
Tosi states that he will bring this issue up to the Board.
Newhall suggests a mural such as the one on the Organic Garden.
Much discussion ensues regarding this issue.

Newhall asks how many street trees are in front of that area.
Tosi states that there is only one.
Newhall suggests talking to Phil Klimowicz, City Arborist to get another tree there.
Bruce asks about handicapped accessibility in the restrooms.
Tosi states that they will have handicapped accessibility in the rest rooms.
Newhall states that she will send the Board's suggestions to the Planning Board.

Newhall states that the signs on the new Rantoul Street location look too large.
The members review the sign approval for the Rantoul Street location.
Finch states that the Board gave them a negative recommendation for the Shaw's proposal
because the sign did not meet zoning.
Newhall states that she will ask Steve Frederickson is they will verify the size of the sign.
Finch says that he doesn't understand how this happened and he would like to know specifics on
the zoning.
Newhall agrees to check the site plans and take some measurements.
