Bruce calls the meeting to order.

1. 19 Dod2e Street - CVS/Pharmacy - Jason Parillo. Back Bay Si2n. 425 Riverside
Avenue. Medford. MA 02155
Jason Parillo of Back Bay Sign states that there are a total of 13 signs being submitted for
approval.
Newhall states that the ZBA will review signs #1 - #5, and she will need to write a letter of
recommendation to the ZBA.
The members express concern about the size of the first 5 signs. This issue generates much
discussion.
Finch clarifies that signs are to be used for identification of the business, not for advertising
products.
Newhall reads a portion of the sign ordinance.
Signs #6 - #13:
Newhall states that sign #6 is acceptable as is.
After much discussion the members agree to accept sign #7 - # 1 0 provided the letters are no
taller than 7 inches.
Newhall: Motion to approve signs #7 - #10 provided the letters are no taller than 7 inches,
seconded by Finch. Passes 4-0.

Newhall states that sign #11 is simple.
Finch states that he has no problem with sign #12.
Newhall states that sign #13 is not before the Board.
Newhall :
Passes 4-0.
Motion to approve signs #6, #11, and #12 as presented, seconded by Finch.
2. 407 Cabot Street - Yummy Asia House - Wan2 Wen Hui. 407 Cabot Street. Beverly.
MA 01915
Finch states that the Board does not want phone numbers on signs.
Newhall asks Wang Wen Hui if some of this information can be removed from the sign and Hui
agrees.
Finch explains that people don't read all of that information and too much printed data might
confuse a reader that is driving by. He states that the numbers must come off of the sign, but the
phone number could be on the inside of the window. He adds that after removing the phone
number Hui could make the lettering bigger on the second sign.
Newhall suggests that Hui return to her with a new design.
Finch asks Hui if the background could be off-white and Hui says "yes".

Motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Bruce. Passes 4-0.
Finch:
Motion to adjourn, seconded by Newhall. Passes 4-0.
