Beverly CATV Advisory Commission Meeting

. Don Berman, Walt Kosmowski, (BEVCAM).
Kim Allyn - guest.
. A quorum being present and Dan Murphy opened the meeting at 7:00.
. Old business:
. The November minutes were voted on and accepted.
. Communications and correspondence:
Dan received 2 responses to the questionnaire from Fire Chief Rick Pierce and
Building Inspector Bill Ambrefe. Dan will send a reminder to the other
department heads.
. Other public Comments:
Newspaper article presented by Walt discussed, re: Verizon's choice not to
expand FIOS to new cities but to expand service to existing served cities.
. New business:
. Commission membership status: CATVAC allowed by charter 9 full and 3 alternate
members. Arthur Crandall will not be reappointed when his term expires, and Neil
Overberg will move temporarily to alternate. This will leave a total of 4 full and 1
alternate.
. Eric will send e-mail to Kim Allyn containing information on CATV contract web
sites. Dan requested a bio from Kim Allyn.
. Dan presented a first draft of the CATV AC business plan and was encouraged to go
forward with it.
. Bill Hewig will attend the January 14th meeting
. Don presented the December BevCam report re: staff, production schedule, project
outreach, technical issues and financials. He also reported on the status of the BevCam
move to a new location, possibly Memorial JHS building.
. Robert F ortado appointed IT manager for the new high school.
· Open issues
. George is trying to contact Jane Lyman, Comcast, about analog to digital conversion on
Feb. 22,2010, and how they will support BevCam.
. George has started outline of the I-Net piece of the plan which Eric and George will
present to Russ Fisk, director ofIT, city of Beverly.
. George and Eric will try to schedule a visit with Com cast to Memorial JHS. Mention
was made regarding moving an ANTEC box from Briscoe to Memorial.
. Don working on BevCam piece of the CATV AC business plan.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 14 T\ 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at
BevCam.
At 8:30 P.M. the meeting was adjourned.
