A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7: 00 PM.
1. Pledge of Allegiance
2. Reading of the Minutes for December 2009 - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the December meeting. Commissioner Forgione made a motion to accept
the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reading of the Financial Report - Commissioner White presented the financial report for
December 2009. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the report, subject to
audit, seconded by Commissioner Nelson. Motion passed unanimously.
4. Presentation(s)-
. Jacob's Engineering - Craig Schuster reported on the Airport Layout Plan Update
status.
5. Chairman's Report - Chairman Vitale....
. Reported that a military memorial statue that neighboring towns, including BVY,
were competing for went to another town, but the artist is going to make another
statue
. Will seek funding to permanently tie down the Vietnam Helicopter display's
propeller and install permanent display lighting
B. OLD BUSINESS

. Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee -Vice Chairman Mahoney reported that a sale
of $175,000 for the non-aviation use parcel in back of the AdminlMaint building
would provide the local share needed for the East Ramp reconstruction project.
. Noise Abatement Subcommittee - Vice Chairman Mahoney reported no noise
complaints for the month of December 2009.
. Facility Maintenance and Web site Management Subcommittee - Commissioner
Forgione reported approximately 707 hits in December 2009 on the airport website.
He also will be contacting the Fire Department for a facility fire inspection.
. Public Relations Subcommittee - Commissioner Nelson announced a tentative
meeting date of January 27,2010.
. Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Program Update)-
Commissioner Barnico reported that NSCC's Aviation Science Program is still in
flux. He also reported there have been no environmental issues at the airport
requiring City Hall involvement.
. Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee - Commissioner Dettorre reported that the
City Solicitor was still working on the RW16 approach safety problem.
. Airport Operations - No Report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee
collections, December noise complaints (None), snow removal, national status of general aviation,
airport security, ALPU status, and C.AP. lease status.
D. NEW BUSINESS:

E. TENANT COMMENTS:
None
F. COMMISSION COMMENTS:
. Commissioner Barnico reported that the Plum Island Airport will be a part of the 2010 Plum
Island Festival.
. Commissioner Barnico also reported that local historian, Paul Larkin, is writing a history book
about North Shore Coast Guard aviation and Beverly Airport aviation.
