Beverly CATV Advisory Commission Meeting

Dan Murphy - Chairman, George Johnson, Arthur Crandall, Al Torsey, Eric Overberg, Neil

COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT:

PUBLIC:
Don Berman, Walt Kosmowski, (BEVCAM),
o A quorum not being present and Dan Murphy absent, Eric opened the meeting at 7:00.
o Old business:
o Communications: None
o The September meeting minutes were read and discussed but not voted on.
o The signed agreement between the city and BevCam to hire consultants to assist
BevCam in the negotiation of a new contract was read and discussed.
o Dan's draft of the questionnaire to the city department heads was read and discussed
with those present. Some changes and additions were suggested. More on this to follow.
o New business:
o No new members proposed for CATVAC.
o No action on removal of a member from the CATV AC. Walter cited the city charter
(sect 8-13) regarding loss of office due to excessive absence.
o Dan's draft of the press release regarding Verizon's intent to provide FIOS in Beverly
was read and discussed. Some changes were discussed... .Walt said he would submit a
revised version containing reference to Stan Usovicz's quote in letter to Judith Cronin,
ward 6 councilor, dated May 10,2009.
o Other public Comments: None.
o Don presented the September BevCam report re: staff, production schedule, project
outreach, technical issues and financials.
· Open issues
o The status of Neil's term on the CATV AC.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 19t\ 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at BevCam.
At 7:30 P.M. the meeting was adjourned.
