MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2009

Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, Forgione, Mahoney, Nelson, Tosi, Vitale, and White
ABSENT:
Commissioners Lydon and Tognazzi

Bill Kossowan, Bill Cianfrocca, Nick Geannaris, Ed Pinho, and Tony Bettencourt
A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7: 00 PM.
1. Reading of the Minutes for May 2009 - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the May meeting. Commissioner Dettorre made a motion to accept the
minutes, subject to amendment, seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion passed
unanimously.
2. Reading of the Financial Report - Commissioner White presented the financial report for
May 2009. Commissioner Barnico made a motion to accept the report, subject to audit,
seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Chairman's Report - Chairman Vitale told the commission that the run-up area on
Taxiway "F" would have to be temporarily relocated to the original run-up area on
Taxiway"D" during the Taxiway "F" Reconstruction Project and that the neighbors
would be contacted. Chairman Vitale also instructed the Airport Manager to send a
Notice of Termination to Tom Ford on 6/22/09.
4. Presentations:
. Jacobs Engineering - Craig Schuster gave an update on the RW 16/34 Crack Repair
Project, announced the bid winner for the Taxiway "F" Reconstruction Project
(Lawrence Lynch), and gave an update on the ALPU.
B. OLD BUSINESS
1. Subcommittee Reports:
. Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee -Vice Chairman Mahoney updated the
commission on the proposed Roma and Ames hangar development and "drop dead
list" success.

. Noise Abatement Subcommittee - Vice Chairman Mahoney reported that he had not
yet heard from noise complainant Nick Geannaris on rescheduling a meeting
regarding his concerns.
. Facility Maintenance and Web site Management Subcommittee - Commissioner
Forgione reported that he attended his first BevCam meeting. He also cleaned up the
airport web site and added John Duval's cell number and new title.
. Public Relations Subcommittee - Commissioner Nelson reported on revisiting the
Beverly Flight Center regarding noise abatement procedures and noise map.
. Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Program Update)-
Commissioner Barnico reported on the Young Eagles Program and to watch the
height of fill going in at the Ron Vitale site.
. Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee - No report
. Operations Coordinator - John Duval updated the commission on the fencing
project.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee
collections, one (1) noise complaint, Tom Ford lease, East Side pedestrian gates, proposed hangar
development, RW 16/34 Crack Repair Project, Taxiway "F" Reconstruction Project, airport
emergency exercise, movie filming interest, Ken Lewis retirement, North Shore Aero Club gate,
field maintenance equipment, and airport maintenance.
D. NEW BUSINESS:
There was a motion by Commissioner White to spend no more than $500 for the Airport Emergency
Crash Exercise, seconded by Commissioner Barnico. Motion passed unanimously.
There was a motion by Commissioner White to allow the North Shore Aero Club to install their
own pedestrian gate, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Yea-7, Nay-I.
E. COMMISSION COMMENTS:
The Civil Air Patrol World War II dance is tentatively set for Saturday, September 26, 2009.
F. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion
passed unanimously at 9:50PM.
