Bohler En2ineerin2. 352 Turnpike Road. Southborou2h. MA 01772 Cabot Street Site: Josh Swerling explains that there are two locations needing sign approval. Regarding the Cabot Street location, he states that the size of the sign is the same. Finch expresses concern about the "Open 7 Days" language on the sign. Swerling states that the company feels strongly that they make the "Open 7 Days" well known. Finch expresses concern about setting precedent with an approval like this. Newhall states that the "Open 7 Days" language is on 3 signs at the Cabot Street location. She adds that the only one that she has a problem with is the projecting sign. She suggests having a compromise on this issue: remove the language from the projecting sign and leave it on the other two. DRB April 2, 2009 Page 2 of3 Finch agrees that the projecting sign is the critical one and he is in favor of limiting the language on this sign, but he is willing to compromise and allow it on the other 2 signs. Swerling states that if he agrees to this and the TD Bank disagrees with the decision, he will come back to the DRB. Finch states that having the "Open 7 Days" language on a window sign would be acceptable. He asks about the sign that is on the limestone pediment, stating that he would like them to use the same fasteners for the new sign to prevent damage to the stone. Swerling asks if this will be included in the letter of approval, and Newhall states that she will include this request. Swerling agrees to notify the sign installer and find a way to work with the existing points of connection. Finch speaks about the application, which describes the existing fascia as concrete. He states that the fascia is actually limestone. There is discussion about the application. Swerling describes each sign diagram in the package for the Cabot Street location. He clarifies that the Board is requesting that the EOl sign (projecting sign) does not contain the "Open 7 Days" language. Finch: Motion to approve the design for the Cabot Street location with the above noted conditions, seconded by Brusca. Passes 4-0. Dodge Street Site: Swerling states that this application is simpler because there are only two signs. Finch clarifies that this location is in the North Beverly Plaza. Swerling shows a photograph of the current sign, stating that the white text blends with the gray background. Finch states that most of the signage in that Plaza consists of channel letters. Brusca suggests that they use a similar sign to the one that exists, except without the "North". She adds that he can change the colors to make it show up better. Finch states that they can increase the size of the channel letters. Swerling asks the Board is they would like to see a green channel stripe below the letters and the members agree that this would be acceptable. Finch states that the "TD" portion of the sign can be a box. Newhall suggests they approve the design with channel letters and the green channel stripe. Finch clarifies that the maximum height for the channel letters will be 18". DRB April 2, 2009 Page 3 of3 Swerling agrees to this, stating that the letters will not even be that big. Finch clarifies that the rectangle that houses the "TD" graphics shall not exceed a height of 24". Newhall: Motion to approve the sign over the door as presented, seconded by McGowan. MA 01982 Peter Sidilou states that he as been in Beverly for 18 years, was at the Shoe for 10 years, and now is in the spot across from Dunkin Donuts, but the sign was never hung outside. Finch states that they don't allow phone numbers on signs, but he could approve it if the phone numbers are removed or painted over. Sidilou states that the sign will fit perfectly over the three windows above the door. Newhall: Motion to approve the sign design without phone numbers, seconded by Finch.
