MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, MARCH 9, 2009

A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7: 00 PM.
1. Reading of the Minutes for February 2009 - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the February meeting. Commissioner Lydon made a motion to accept the
minutes, seconded by Commissioner Tosi. Motion passed unanimously.
2. Reading of the Financial Report - Commissioner White presented the financial report for
February 2009. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the report, subject to
audit, seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Chairman's Report - Chairman Vitale reported on the following:
. A Civil Air Patrol request for a display at Patton Park
. Handed out sheets to the commission that contained lists of completed airport
projects and anticipated airport projects
. A meeting with new M.A.C. Executive Director Chris Willenborg
. Reinstitution of the airport's voluntary noise abatement rules
. Future meeting with Tom Ford
4. Presentations:
. Jacobs Engineering - Craig Schuster updated the commission on the RW34 Crack
Repair Project and Taxiway "F" soils and survey work.
B. OLD BUSINESS
1. Subcommittee Reports:
. Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee -Vice Chairman Mahoney reported on a
recent meeting with Linda McCarthy of Something Different Cafe and a meeting held

with John Dunn, Beverly Director of Finance and David Gelineau, Beverly
Purchasing Director.
. Noise Abatement Subcommittee - Vice Chairman Mahoney reported on a meeting in
the Control Tower with Representative Ted Speliotis and a meeting needed with
Nick Geannaris, a Thorpe Circle resident.
. Facility Maintenance and Web site Management Subcommittee - Commissioner
Forgione reported that for $35.00 per year the commission can use the Beverly
Community Access Media (BevCam). The commission could do its own
productions.
. Public Relations Subcommittee - No report
. Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Program Update)-
Commissioner Barnico reported on a recent article regarding the NSCC Aviation
Program.
. Airport Safety & Security Subcommittee - Commissioner Dettorre reported on tree
removal near Hangar #47 and topping some trees on Burley Street.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT:
Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft traffic count, monthly landing fee
collections, A B Aviation Building #54 corrected lease approval, snow removal, Federal Economic
Stimulus Project for Taxiway "F", Beverly Citizen news article, ALP update, Roger Brul simulator
training, abolition ofM.A.C., RW34 Crack Repair Project, airport fencing and brush removal status,
and airport maintenance.
D. NEW BUSINESS:
. Met in Executive Session to discuss a possible Real Property Avigation Easement
Acquisition and its value
. Roger Brul - Commissioner Dettorre made a motion to approve a sublet by Warner
Aerocraft to Roger Brul to conduct helicopter flight simulator training in Hangar #47,
seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion passed unanimously.
E. COMMISSION COMMENTS:
None
F. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Dettorre, seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion
passed unanimously at 10:00PM.
