A request for an asset report for June 30, 1991 will be made and will be reviewed at our next meeting. Hr. Smith requested that the City of Beverly audit report be made available for review each year with regard to the City of Beverly Trust Funds. Acknowledgement of letters from recipients of gifts from the Nancy A. Millerr Fund for Fiscal Year 1989-90 was made by the Clerk. They included Beverly Female Charitable Society, Beverly Regional YMCA, Beverly Hospital Century Fund and United Way of Central North Shore. Requests for funds were reviewed and it was voted to make the following contribu- tions from the Nancy A. Hillerr Fund; Beverly School for the Deaf $1,500.00 to purchase the laminatot press and video tape recorder, Beverly Female Charitable Society $1,500.00, Visiting Nurse Association of North Shore, Inc, $1,500.00 to be used for citizens of Beverly only, and United Way of Central North Shore $3,000.00 for Beverly organizations. The Beverly Regional YMCA received $7,500.00 from uhe Millart Fund on June 30, 1991 and we received acknowledgement from them. The remainder of the funds in the Killerr Fund will be retained and disbursment discussed at our next meeting. A discussion of whether the Commissioners should have organizations come in to meet with us and state their need for funds was held. Also how to encourage smaller organizations to request funds or to get the word around without printing anything in the local paper was discussed. One suggestion was through our local churches, It was noted that we have not received requests from Project Rap or the American Red Cross as in the past. Peter Copelea suggested that we could donate money for the purchase of specific items for a worthy organization such as office furniture or equipment. It was suggested that recipients of gifts from any of the funds have a plaque visible to the public that states where the money came from. This may encoura[e citizens to leave money to the City of Beverly in trust for use by worthy organizations. The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 A.M. Respectfully submitted, Alice M Remare, Clerk Commissioners of Trust Funds for City of Beverly
