Facade Imorovement Pro2ram 1. 285 Cabot Street - Chianti - Rich Marino. 285 Cabot Street. Beverlv. MA 01915 - Facade Review Rich Marino, Proprietor, states that the restaurant will take over the liquor store space. He makes the following points: . The wood in the front will be stripped off and the brick will be exposed on the entire building. . Rather than the current four front doors there will be only two front doors: one for the restaurant and one for the apartments. The restaurant will have an alcove entrance. The apartment entrance will stay in place but will be cleaned up and painted and the mailboxes will be painted. . The tree in front will remain but will be trimmed back. . There will be fabric awnings over the windows. . The wall under the windows will be faced with a stone or simulated stone blocks or a faux finish. . The restaurant patio will be renovated. . There will be lights over each awning and three sconces along the wall. Finch states that the alcove entry should not be a flat plaster, but a painted wood panel would be fine. He adds that the wall below the windows should have dark green marble blocks, or limestone, or a simple granite veneer. Marino states that he likes the idea of using a dark green marble veneer. Bruce suggests that Marino bring the design for the lighting when he returns. She adds that she is happy to see this new design. DRB September 4, 2008 Page 2 of2 Newhall states that the board will send recommendations to both Main Streets and to Mr. Marino. Marino states that he will return next month for sign approval. 2. 393 Cabot Street - Todd's - Todd Lampert. 393 Cabot Street. Beverlv. MA 01915 - Si2n Review/Facade Review Newhall states that this will be a sign review and a fa<;ade review. Finch asks what the material will be under the windows. Todd Lampert, Proprietor, states that is currently wood clapboard and will remain this material. Miranda Gooding states that this old building is in bad condition and the renovation will be a great improvement. She adds that there are many signs on the front of the building that will be removed. Lampert states that the building is royal blue with white trim. Finch says that the clapboard is fine as long as it is consistent across the front. Newhall states that the sign will consist of individual aluminum letters. Bruce states that black letters would look nice with the royal blue. Lampert states that aluminum letters would cost twice as much as plastic, but he will use aluminum if the Board wishes. He adds that they will not be illuminated. Bruce states that she prefers aluminum letters. Bruce: Motion to approve the sign design as discussed with black aluminum letters, seconded by McGowan. Passes 5-0. Newhall asks if the Board has any recommendations for the windows or the awning. The members agree that the windows and the awning look fine.
