Joanne Panunzio presided.
Neil Olson made the motion, seconded by Roseann Benson, to accept the minutes of April 29,
2008 as read. Motion passed.

Committee Reports
Personnel: John Kelley and Joanne Panunzio will meet with Patricia Cirone to review the
director's evaluation. John Kelley will present director's evaluation at the June trustees meeting.
Administration: No report.
Finance: No report.
Long Range Planning: No report.
Report of the Library Director
1) Dennis Geller: Dennis Geller has been appointed to the library board. 2) Budget: Patricia
Cirone reported on her meeting with the Mayor and John Dunn to discuss FY2009 budget. The
hours for the third floor were cut from the budget. John Dunn said that money for security
cameras would probably come out of reserve funds not the regular library budget. Patricia Cirone
distributed copies of the revised proposed FY2009 budget to the trustees. This budget includes a
3.4% change over last year. 3) Nancy Bonne: Nancy Bonne, head of Children's Services, will be
retiring. She is entitled to $26,000 in buy back sick time. 4) People Counter Statistics: Main
Library: 4,500 people per week, average of71 people per hour, average of79 people per hour on
Sundays. 5) Downloadable Audiobooks: NOBLE will be signing a contract with Overdrive for
downloadable audiobooks. Rosetta Stone will no longer allow libraries to purchase Rosetta Stone
for patron use. NOBLE is investigating other options for downloadable foreign languages. 6)
Field Trips: Patricia Cirone is working with the Senior Center to co-sponsor some field trips. 7)
BevCam: BevCam is doing a feature on the bookmobile. 8) Upcoming Events: May 29 Big Dig,
May 31 Photo Day, June 3 Election Day Book Sale, June 7 Farms Lawn Party. 9) Energy Audit:
Mike Collins is working with National Grid on an energy audit for the Main Library. National
Grid will absorb some of the cost. 10) Custodian: Custodian's job opening will be posted May
28. 11) Farms Landscape Plan: Patricia Cirone is moving forward with the Beverly Farms
Library landscaping plan.
