MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

PRESENT:
Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, Forgione, Freyer, Mahoney, Tosi, Vitale, and White
ABSENT:
Commissioners Lydon, Nelson, and Tognazzi
PUBLIC:
Craig Schuster, Jim Baker, Richard and Charlene Chase, Ken Robinson, Bruce Eaton,
Joe Gibbons, and Alex Skrabut
A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7: 00 PM.
1. Reading of the Minutes for May 2008 - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of the
minutes from the May meeting. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept the
minutes, seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
2. Reading of the Financial Report - Commissioner White presented the financial report for
May 2008. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a motion to accept both, subject to audit,
seconded by Commissioner Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Chairman's Report - Chairman Vitale updated the commission on the following:
. The status of the sale of the F onzo parcel
. Donna Witte FAA-required sale info
. Completed airport projects
. City Hall interaction procedure
. Burley Street tree obstructions
4. Presentations:
. Jacobs, Edwards & Kelcey - Craig Schuster reported that it appeared Markings
Unlimited would re-do the RW 9-27, TX "D", and TX "H" pavement markings.
B. OLD BUSINESS

. Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee -Vice Chairman Mahoney reported on the
Airport PowerPoint presentation he made to the North Shore Aero Club.
. Public Relations Subcommittee - No report.
. Facility Maintenance Subcommittee - Commissioner Forgione reported/discussed
proposed changes to the airport web site and a link to the control tower.
. Airport Safety Subcommittee - Commissioner Dettorre reported a tree obstruction
survey was done on R W 16 and the next step was to contact the homeowner (Mr.
Parsons) to discuss tree removal.
. Environmental Issues Subcommittee (& NSCC Aviation Program Update)-
Commissioner Barnico updated the commission on the Kelleher parcel site review
notice for June 16,2008 and the former Revere Aviation/General Aviation Services
final environmental assessment.
. Noise Abatement Subcommittee - Vice Chairman Mahoney gave a video
presentation on the Thorpe Circle aircraft noise study and presented plans to record
run-up noise at the TX "D" run-up area.
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT - Airport Manager Mezzetti reported on the monthly aircraft
traffic count, monthly landing fee collections, hay farmer LOA status, Disney movie filming
conclusion, Mass Aircraft Tax Exemption status, FAA Reauthorization Bill status, taxiway fillet
status, May noise complaints, pavement overlay on Hangar #4 road, and airport maintenance.
D. NEW BUSINESS:
None
E. COMMISSION COMMENTS:
. Chairman Barnico stated he and Vice Chairman Mahoney will definitely address the problem
of helicopter noise.
F. ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Dettorre, seconded by Commissioner Forgione. Motion
passed unanimously at 9: 12PM.
