Houseman did not vote because he did not attend the December meeting. 4. Starbucks Coffee - 242 Elliot Street - Si2n Desi2n Bruce confirms that the Board must review three signs. Russ Baker of "Signs by Russ" states that there is a clearance pole for tall trucks to warn of the maximum height. He explains that Starbucks will occupy only one half of this building so all of the signs will be on one side of the property. Jaquith expresses concern about the aesthetic and direction ce for the drive-through. Baker states that many Star s' locations typically close around 9:00 PM. Jaquith asks what time the store will open. Baker states that he doesn't know the opening time for this location. Finch states that it has been the preference of this Board to have downlights on wooden signs rather than internally-illuminated. He further explains that the Board doesn't have the power to prohibit any internally-illuminated signs. Newhall states that this location is in the CG zone. Bruce confirms the recommendation that the sign be no higher that 15 feet from grade. DRB January 3, 2008 Page 3 of 4 Houseman recommends that Glen Marlin speak to the building inspector about the lighting regulations for the building. Finch: Motion to approve the design for the three signs as presented with the recommendation that the sign on the front of the building be no higher than 15 feet, seconded by Bruce. Passes 5-0. 5. Windover Properties. Inc. - Weaver Glass 369-399 Rantoul Street - Modification to Site Plan Attorney Justin Belliveau of Wind over Properties, Inc. explains the pr the parking lot layout, add a window to the parking lot side of the b . some of the exterior lighting. Enforcement Issues Mandrake: Newhall states that Steve Frederickson will issue a fine because the installed awning differs from the design that was approved and the owner(s) have discontinued communications with the Board. Purple Scorpion: Newhall states that the business has opened. She will keep an eye out to see if they install a new sign. 7. Meetin2 Schedule Beverly Self Storage: Newhall states that the sign is too high and Stev will write a letter stating that the sign must be lowered. Alternately they can apply for a variance if they want to keep the sign at its e Newhall requests that the members meet on January 31 instead of February 4. Finch: Motion to reschedule the February 7 meeting to January 31, seconded by Jaquith. Passes 5-0. s. Environmental Sensitivity to be more environmentally friendly.
