MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

PRESENT:
Commissioners Barnico, Dettorre, Duval, Forgione, Freyer, Mahoney,
Vitale, and White
ABSENT:
Commissioners Lydon, Nelson, and Tognazzi

A. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Vitale called the meeting to order at 7: 00 PM.
1. Reading of the Minutes for April 2007 - Chairman Vitale called for a
reading of the minutes from the April meeting. The minutes were amended
to show the BAC will receive some percentage of gate payments for
upcoming airport events. Commissioner Freyer made a motion to accept
the amended minutes, seconded by Vice Chairman Mahoney. Motion
passed unanimously.
2. Reading of the Financial Report - Chairman Vitale called for a reading of
the financial report. Commissioner White presented the financial report for
April 2007 that included an FY08 budget amendment. Commissioner
Barnico made a motion to accept the financial report and the amended
FY08 airport budget, subject to audit, seconded by Commissioner
Dettorre. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Chairman's Report - Chairman Vitale updated the commission with the
following information:
. Commissioner Barnico is the BAC liaison with the North Shore
Community College Aviation Science Program Department and the
airport liaison for all environmental issues.
. Chairman Vitale talked with the Mayor and Aero Manufacturing, Inc.
may want to buy the 5 +/- acres on the East Side of the RW 34 parcel
before Kelleher Construction Co. buys the West Side 5 +/- acres. The
$400,000 +/- sales price would go to the airport.

. The new property manager for the Cherry Hill Industrial Park is Ms.
Beth Sarni. Ms. Sarni is interested in an airport tour and is receptive to
a mutual partnership discussion.
. Infield development will be revisited.
. The Civil Air Patrol and Jim Baker are to partner together and come up
with a plan to revamp the CAP area at Hangar #2.
. Airport tenant, Steve Schwartz told Chairman Vitale that there was
going to be a feature on BVY in North Shore Magazine sometime in
the fall (early October).
4. Presentations:
. Ms. Reed-Sweeney presented the proposed Cystic Fibrosis Flying
Event at BVY. It is tentatively scheduled for September 21-24,2007
(Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). The BAC requested a percentage of
the event's proceeds be given to the Civil Air Patrol to help renovate
their Hangar #2 area.
. Mr. Clark L' Abbe presented information on the proposed Collings
Foundation WWII Bomber Visit to BVY and rides for the public. The
Collings Foundation will be asked to raffle a ride in a bomber with the
proceeds to go to the Civil Air Patrol to help renovate their Hangar #2
area. It was also requested that the CAP be allowed to setup a booth at
the event.
B. OLD BUSINESS
1. Subcommittee Reports:
. Property/Legal/Finance Subcommittee - Vice Chairman Mahoney
presented the new PowerPoint presentation ofBVY. He also talked
about his meeting with Ken Robinson regarding the proposed sublet
with Dana Axelrod of Warner Aviation (who produce sport aircraft).
Commissioner White made a motion that the sublet be approved,
subject to proper zoning, seconded by Commissioner Duval. Motion
passed unanimously.
. Public Relations Subcommittee - Commissioner Freyer updated the
commission on a proposed visit to BVY by AOP A President Phil
Boyer.

. Facility Maintenance Subcommittee - Commissioner Forgione updated
the commission on renaming and renumbering the Airport's East Side
Access Road. Actual decision was tabled. He also updated the
commission on the proposed contaminated fuel containers for the
Airport's East Side
. Hangar Development/Off-Airport Obstructions - Commissioner
Dettorre updated the commission on the RW27 tree obstruction
removal efforts (hopefully to be cut within the month of June 2007). He
informed the commission that George Yardley of FAA was going to
send Airport Manager Mezzetti GPS paperwork. Commissioner
Dettorre also updated the BAC on a proposed windmill-type turbine to
be built in the city. Lastly, Commissioner Dettorre inquired on the
feasibility of painting a compass rose on the Airport (will be referred to
Jacobs, Edwards, & Kelcey).
. Special Projects - No report
C. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT
Airport Manager Mezzetti updated the commission on the monthly aircraft traffic
count, monthly landing fee collections, noise complaints, selection of new airport
mechanic and part-time airport clerk, BVY PAPI's, RW 9/27 REIL's, interior
emergency lighting replacements, new subcommittee, Young Eagles fly-in,
development interest, and airport maintenance.
D. NEW BUSINESS
None
E. COMMISSION COMMENTS
. Commissioner Duval announced he was retiring from MAS SPORT and was
resigning from the Beverly Airport Commission. Vice Chairman Mahoney made a
motion that, upon his resignation as a commissioner, he be engaged on a
contractual basis at $100 per month to help the airport secure grant monies and
advise on airport safety and security matters, seconded by Commissioner White.
Motion passed unanimously.
. Commissioner Barnico discussed the North Shore Community College Aviation
Science Program.
. Commissioner Dettorre stressed the importance of getting the airport's name "out
there" looking for sponsors.

. Commissioner White distributed the new FY08 budget figures that had changed
since the last BAC meeting.

Motion to adjourn made at 9:32 by Commissioner Duval, seconded by
Commissioner Forgione. Motion passed unanimously.
