1997-12-18BEVERLY COMMISSION ON DISABILITIES MINUTES OF MEETING December 18, 1997 Commodore Restaurant Present:. Elise B~mstein, Art Daignault, Kevin Gallant, Norm Ganley, Tim Hoy, Bob Nelson and Steve Reynolds Absent: Patti Hoy I. The Agenda for this meeting was reviewed and accepted by the membership. II. The review and acceptance of the November 19, 1997 minutes was delayed until the January '98 meeting. III. Old Business A. City Hall Access Update 1. Accessible bathroom on the first floor is completed; only cosmetic work is to be completed. 2. There is a problem with the homeless people using the accessible bathroom for personal hygiene. B. HP Survey Update 1. There was no new information to be discussed. C. HPP Program Update/Discussion 1. Conhie Linscott, the parking clerk for the city, would like to have photos of violator' s vehicle with the license plate number and a photo of the vehicle a.'~d I-IP sign. 2. Steve Reynolds is to discuss the above issue with Connie Linscott. D. Beverly Post Office Update 1. Work continues to move forward depending on the weather. E. AAB Reform, Dunkin Donuts Update & New Bakery Issue at 1 West St. in Beverly Farms 1. Bert Glovsky sent a new letter to the Architectural Access Board (AAB) regarding Cabot St. Dunldn Donuts. Steve Reynolds stated that we need to try to get things back on track. 2. Joe DeFuseo called Steve Reynolds re: Beverly Farms Bakery at 1 West St. Mr. DeFusco is to write a letter of intent for the issue of accessibility. 3. There was no news re: AAB regulation amendment. F. Common Victualer's License 1. The first meeting on this issue with other interested groups, including BCOD, will be on January 15, 1998 at the Beverly Public Library's Program Room at 7:00 p.m. IV. New Business A. Possible New Member 1. Ed Goldstein of 20 Warren Street has expressed an interest in joining the BCOD. Steve Reynolds has discussed the possibility of joining us. Steve explained the purpose of our Commission. 2. It was mentioned at a previous meeting that Patti Hoy might be interested in replacing Elise Bernstein on the Commission. At this time, the situation is being sorted out to see what interest Patti Hoy ha~ in becoming a voting member of the BOCD. V. Next Meeting A. Our next meeting will be on January 15, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. at the Beverly Public Library's Program Room. VI. Adjournment A. Meeting was Adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
