LYNCH PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES FOR MAY 18, 2006
In attendance were Tom Clark, Nancy Clark, Joan Fairbank,
Bruce Doig, Nick Zarkades, Rich Benevento, and Ginny
Currier.
During the open forum discussion, Ryal Side resident Al
Morse expressed concern that the rocks moved to the right
of the ocean-facing beach five years ago have now all
washed back thus reducing the usable area of the beach. He
wanted to know if the city could again move these rocks.
Joan Fairbank raised the possibility of having colleges in
the area undertake a feasibility study, perhaps first of
the rose garden. She suggested that Beverly resident
Priscilla Randall, who taught landscape design at Radcliff,
might be consulted. It was also suggested that UMass,
Gordon, Endicott, Salem State, and the Boston Architectural
Center might also be contacted.
Rich Benevento led a discussion about having a due
diligence study of the carriage house which would encompass
a building assessment and cost estimates to bring the
building up to code. This would be done prior to hiring an
architectural engineering firm, an architect, and
developing a business plan.
Plans were discussed for the July 16 David S. Lynch Day.
Bruce Doig said he located some materials from last year
which he will given to Rich Benevento to help him sign up
pizza vendors.
Bruce also reported that because of non-use, he cancelled
LPAC’s voice mail boxes.
